This month, the 16 best Dota 2 teams in the world are heading to Shanghai, China, where they’ll compete in the most prestigious Dota 2 tournament. The International (TI) 2026 is organised by Valve and takes place between 13 and 23 August. It features a group stage followed by the playoffs, which are held at the Oriental Sports Center.
All matches of TI 2026 are available to bet on when you join Stake Sportsbook. We’ve outlined our key Dota 2 predictions and analysis of The International 2026 below.
Who will win The International 2026: our outright prediction
PARIVISION are our Stake betting pick to win The International 2026. Fresh from winning the Esports World Cup last month, the Serbian team is the betting favourite. They certainly have momentum on their side, having defeated BetBoom 3-1 in the EWC final, and they qualified for The International coming 1st-2nd along with Team Spirit in the European qualifiers. At the EWC, PARIVISION showed excellent drafting flexibility, with all members of the team adopting a wide hero pool.
One of the key pieces of PARIVISION’s success at the EWC was their ability to execute hyper-aggressive strategies and defensive strategies, keeping their opponents guessing. Their roster offers a blend of youth and experience, with the 18-year-old prodigy Satanic standing out. However, it was offlaner Noticed who won the MVP award at the EWC, acting as an initiator and providing utility to the team and their adaptable strategies.
Dark horse picks for The International 2026
Team Liquid started the season strongly with wins at BLAST SLAM VI, a 3rd place finish at DreamLeague Season 28, and a runners-up finish at PGL Wallachia Season 7. However, their performances dropped off, and they’re now outside the top contenders according to the opening odds. They have an elite roster though, with players fully capable of dominating lanes and winning championships. Their strategies involve high mobility heroes that they use to create numerical lane advantages.
Vici Gaming returns to compete at The International 2026 following a 5-year hiatus. They’re significant underdogs according to the opening odds, but can’t be counted out as they showed at the 2026 EWC. They shocked multiple big teams, including Team Falcons, to finish 4th. Vici Gaming play hyper-aggressive strategies, aiming to control the map, and their roster has excellent tournament-winning experience.
1win Team has a roster capable of winning tournaments, with team captain 33 winning TI 2022 and 2024. Their strategy revolves around 33’s ability to secure lanes while the rest of the team suffocates enemy resources. They’re ranked as the 7th favourites according to the latest betting odds, but they have a good chance to create an upset.
Teams to watch at The International 2026
PARIVISION are the betting favourites and our Dota 2 picks to win the tournament. They’ve shown excellent draft flexibility and mechanical dominance this season, and recently won the EWC. Although they missed out on a direct invite earlier in the season, they’re arguably peaking at the perfect time to perform well at The International.
Team Yandex are the 2nd favourites according to the opening betting odds. They were invited to TI 2026 based on their early-season performance and this year have won PGL Wallachia Season 7 and BLAST SLAM VII. They also finished in 3rd place at the Esports World Cup, with players like watson and Saska standing out. Saska has previously won TI 3 times, while watson excels at helping the team scale to control the late game.
BetBoom Team finished as runners-up at the Esports World Cup, but they’re currently 3rd favourites to win TI according to the latest Dota 2 odds. This year, their only win was at PGL Wallachia Season 8, but they also finished 3rd at BLAST SLAM VII. The addition of Kiritych to their roster last year has helped bring discipline and stability to their playing style. However, BetBoom’s strategic style focuses on establishing aggressive landing dominance and squeezing the opposition out of their own jungle.
Team Spirit are currently the joint 4th betting favourites to win TI this August. The 2-time TI champions fought hard through the Europe regional qualifier to make it to the tournament. While they’ve yet to win a tournament this year, they won TI in 2023 and 2022, so it would be unwise to rule them out. Their roster features Yatoro, who is considered one of the best hyper-carries in the history of Dota 2. Spirit’s strategy consists of mid-game macro and late-game teamfighting, with the roster sacrificing themselves to maximise Yatoro’s abilities.
Team Falcons are the defending champions, having won TI 2025. Despite this, they’re only the 4th favourites, level with Team Spirit in the opening outright betting odds. That’s because they haven’t won a tournament this year, and were recently knocked out of the EWC by the huge underdog Vici Gaming. It’s hard to count Team Falcons out though, especially as their roster is unchanged from their TI win. Their strategy focuses on map isolation, with an offlaner who farms the opponent’s jungle aggressively.
The International 2026 Swiss stage and bracket predictions
The International begins with a Swiss-system stage, where teams compete over 5 rounds. The top 3 advance automatically to the playoffs, while the 4th to 13th teams must compete in an elimination round for a chance to make the playoffs. In total, only 8 teams will progress to the playoffs.
Here are our Dota 2 picks of teams that the following teams will advance through the group stage and make the playoffs:
PARIVISION - Face Team Resilience in Round 1
Team Yandex - Face HULIGANI in Round 1
BetBoom Team - Face OG in Round 1

Team Liquid - Face Vici Gaming in Round 1
Our best value bets and player props for The International 2026
Vici Gaming to finish in the top four is our value bet. The Chinese team will be playing in front of a home crowd and are coming off of an excellent 4th place finish at the Esports World Cup. Their outright winner odds are low compared to their potential for a high finish.
We’re predicting Pure of 1win to beat the over line for total kills. 1win base their strategy around 33’s slow, calculated plays, which can lead to longer matches. Pure is a highly aggressive carry who takes part in a lot of team fights, giving him a chance to get a high number of kills in longer matches.
When looking at prop bets at Stake like first blood, consider which teams play more aggressively early on. Meanwhile, for first Roshan, you need to look at team composition and analyse the historical Roshan kills for each team in how they prioritise specific objects on the map.
The International 2026 betting tips
Pay attention to the latest patch and meta picks - The International 2026 takes place following a recent patch, where heroes have had their abilities tweaked slightly. This may result in a new meta forming, but teams will have to get to grips with it in the opening stages. Don’t bet on the first series, but instead watch the matches to see which heroes currently have the best impact.
Watch the draft phase - The hero draft is one of the most important stages of any Dota 2 map, as team captains pick and ban heroes from the game’s roster. Draft matchups and hero synergies can have a massive impact on which strategies each team uses. Follow the draft carefully before making your The International 2026 predictions.
Follow line movement - The betting lines and odds will move close to the match and during matches. Pre-match line movement can be unpredictable, as the draft still isn’t known. You can make the most of this movement to get better odds post-draft when making your The International predictions if you know what to look for. Read our Dota 2 betting guide and our Esports betting tips to learn more about how odds and markets can change before you start!
Consider the home crowd advantage - Just like in sports, having a home crowd cheering on the team can make a big difference to player performance. European teams may feel more pressure without the support from the crowd, while elite Chinese teams like Vici Gaming could have an advantage.
