Counter-Strike 2 Esports World Cup 2026 dates, format and prize pool

The Counter-Strike 2 Championship Finals take place on the final day of the 2026 Esports World Cup (EWC). Between 12 and 23 August, 32 of the world’s best CS2 teams will compete across a group stage and playoffs. The tournament is held at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, with the final day taking place at the Accor Arena. It features a $2 million prize pool, with the champions receiving $600,000.

Teams also earn Club Championship points based on their EWC finishing position, adding another incentive for organisations competing across multiple titles.

How the group stage and playoffs work

The teams are drawn into 4 groups, which follow a double-elimination format. Each group features 8 teams. The opening match uses a best-of-one format, while all following matches are played to the best of 3 games. The top 4 teams from each group advance to the playoffs stage.

16 teams compete in the single-elimination bracket playoffs. Matches are played to the best of 3 games, but the Grand Final is a best-of-5 series. The third-place match is held between the 2 losing teams of the semifinals.

Map handicap and total maps

The map handicap betting market lets you bet on a team with a handicap or advantage applied. For example, if you bet -1.5, the team needs to win the match by at least 2 maps. If you bet 1.5, the team needs to avoid losing by 2 maps.

The total maps market means you can predict how many maps will be played during the match. Choose the under/over line when placing your bet. Remember that the opening match of the group stage is played on 1 map, and the Grand Final will be played to the best of 5 games. Meanwhile, other matches are played to the best of 3.
